High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Came here because of having a gift card and wow, were we pleased! Food was fantastic for the whole family. Best of all was customer service. We were sitting in booth area and the a/c was blowing way too much on us--whole film shivering. Asked our server Camille if something can be done. Oh sure no problem. Even jimmy the manager double checked on us later on. Camille was attentive and joked with the kids and family. Order was just as we asked for--when I ordered a drink she ran through all options for us. Generous portions--home with lunch and more tomorrow. Thank you for a great night out!

Terrible service! I asked for my cheese burger well done, instead I got rare. I also had a hair on cheese. The server (Courtney S) didn't even care when I showed her. No drink refills even offered, while guy next to us got his beer refilled several times. The server dropped maple syrup in my water, did not even apologize or even acknowledge what she had done. The good quality is just OK. Not good or great. Even burger king knows how to cook a hamburger until its done. Do not eat at this location! They don't care about their customers, and they need to go out of business! Im never eating at this location again. This is seriously the WORST restaurant in St. Augustine.

Wow really not a place to go. Waited 45 min after order placed to receive meals that, were frankly pathetic Men's restroom one of the most unclean i have ever seen. Manager not responsive to concerns. We will not return.

My salad had slightly rotten lettuce and rotten tomatoes. And although the manager did apologize, i returned my salad. Opened up 3 different sets of "new" rolled silverware and each one had chunks of old food crusted on them. Would not eat here again...

Well, we've been eating at this location every other week for lunch. Ordered burgers medium and we got medium rare...pretty rare for a burger. Friend asked for extra onions and we both asked for BBQ seasoning on our fries. We received none if the above. The lady that brought out our food didn't seem to care so we told the server. Instead of bringing out the seasoning and onions he just asked we heard him yelling at them in the back. They also have all this stuff about get a free appetizer if they don't suggest certain drinks. Our server just asked if we wanted to start out with drinks. When we called him out he argued with us and lied and said he asked us. Don't put it out there if you are not going to give it out and don't insult us. Our lunch ritual is moving to Longhorn. Thanks.

Mainstream kind of restaurant, ok service, ok food, you get what you pay for, just the run of the mill kind of decision to go to a place that will cook your food. No big selection for beer or healthy food. If you want a lot of sodium come to this place.

The food was hot and great, but our waiter was not friendly at all. He didn't come check up on us for about 10 15 minutes, and my boyfriend did not have any of his beverage left. When we went to talk to a manager, she did get us what we needed, however, our waiter saw us talking to the manager, and started saying stuff under his breath behind her back. And afterwards he made comments to himself about us, and I am unaware as to what he said. But if you go to Applebees, I hope you do not get the waiter Antonio!!

Applebee's is a great place for a hungry person!!!! We always leave with a doggie bag. Service was good and food was very good. We do the "two for 20.00" selections and think we get a good deal for the price. Portion size is really large!!!!

I like this Applebee's because the staff is always good to me and my friends. The food is always good. The prices are terrific. I like the many options and drink/meal deals. They don't mind you staying a long time, so you can catch up with friends and family. Overall, a good place to eat especially if you are watching your calories.

I'm not a big fan of Applebee's period but I gave 3 stars because this location is clean and the staff is friendly. The food is just ok. I came here a few times being that it was really late and they were open. My guy friend and I wanted something a little better than fast food.

I ate here when this place first opened back in the day and thought the food was awful. Decided recently to try it out and wow much improved!!! I highly recommend eating at the bar after 9 pm for half price appetizers . The pretzels and beer cheese are amazing !

MEH. It is conveniently located...yes. Has a great happy hour, but can't really imbibe since I have 30 minute drive home..but, what I can tell you for sure is, the last 2 times I ate there...I wasn't feeling so well afterwards. I won't go into the graphic details of my gastrointestinal issues but, suffice it to say that unless there is a seatbelt on your toilet, you may achieve liftoff. :O/ If all you want is a great happy hour, by all means head on over..but, eat before you get there.

Located at the 312 / US 1 Intersection, Applebees is surrounded by about a dozen other chain restaurants, so if you're in the mood for a night out, you've got a lot of choices if you're driving to this part of town. Depending on whether you're in the mood for steaks, seafood, or American casual, you'll definitely find your fix. I rarely stop in to Applebees, but this place does have a few things going for it. Like Friday's, it's open late virtually every night. Like Friday's, it offers up Happy Hour pretty much every second they're open. And like Friday's, they offer up some okay food at a decent price. Stopped in here recently to grab a couple of beers and a late dinner. I sat at the bar, and was able to enjoy a couple of different football games at the dozens of TV's hanging all around the area. The bartender was great. Very attentive, very personable, and took care of me and everyone else around me. Pretty disappointed at the lack of Sam Adams on tap- there were Sam Adams ads all over their website, as well as their menus... but only bottles? Oh well, grabbed a couple of Coors Lights on 2-for-1, and off we went. For dinner, I chose a new sandwich- a pulled pork bbq sandwich with coleslaw and fried onions. Gotta admit- it was pretty tasty. Could've been a lot fresher, but the taste was decent, and it was only 9 bucks, can't beat that. Of course, they had a lot of other classics available, but it's pretty much the same fare that you would get at any Chili's, Friday's, or Applebee's. Same food and specials, same "attitude", same drinks and service. Always fun to stop in and have a few drinks and get a nice buzz, then enjoy a decent meal at a decent price. Can't complain about this place.

Ugh. Awful. Steer clear if you're hungry. You're better off staying home and nuking some hot pockets than eating here. The food tastes like it's been frozen, reheated, half frozen, then cranked all the way up again. The pasta was watery, the steak was charred on the outside, nearly raw on the inside, and the buffalo wing appetizer was flat out gross. However, if you're looking to get bombed, they do the drinks just right.

Best Long Islands Ever. I have never had a long island that you couldn't taste the 23908748923489237 different liquors in it. It was fantastic and if I wasn't the person driving everybody, I would have probably had my fill on them. Whoever the bar tender was is a God. Ok, now that I sound like an alcoholic, the food part. My husband and I did the 2 for $20 deal. I ordered their 3 cheese chicken penne with no tomatoes and it was fantastic. There was a lot of cheese (just the way I like it) and it wasn't scalding hot to where you want to cry because you shoved it in your mouth too fast. I also liked their little garlic bread stick thing that came with it. Normally when I get this dish, the bread stick thing is burnt and it's more like a baseball bat than toasted bread. The party I was with all said their drinks were perfect and nobody complained about their meals at all. I highly recommend going to this location if you're ever in the St. Augustine area.

The service sucked. This is the second time that I've come here and walked away unhappy. We had to eat our meal without a drink and we got charged for them. Apparently the waitress was on a smoke break because when she finally showed up with the drinks that were watered down from sitting there, she reeked of cigarettes. We will never be back there.
